Swedish dentists

Dentist jobs for Swedish dentists in the Netherlands and Belgium

DentistBridge was founded by Julius Segersteen, a Swedish dentist who relocated to the Netherlands in 2015. We help Swedish-trained dentists move to the Netherlands or Belgium with first-hand experience of the journey.

Step by step

How it works

01

Automatic EU recognition

Your Swedish tandläkarlegitimation is automatically recognised across the EU under Directive 2005/36/EC. No re-study required.

02

Language preparation

Dutch (NL or Flanders), French (Wallonia), or German (Liège). Most clinics in Belgium now expect C1, while the Netherlands requires B2 for BIG registration.

03

Register (BIG or RIZIV)

BIG for the Netherlands or RIZIV/INAMI for Belgium. We handle document prep with you in Swedish/English.

04

Match & relocate

Hand-matched clinic introductions and full relocation support, including connecting you with our community of Swedish dentists already in NL/BE.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is it really easier for Swedish dentists?
Linguistically and culturally, yes — most Swedes pick up Dutch fast, and the Scandinavian working style fits the Dutch and Belgian dental culture well.
Is the pay better than in Sweden?
Generally yes, especially as a self-employed dentist in the Netherlands or Belgium. Tax structures differ — we help you compare net income realistically.
Can I keep my Swedish legitimation while abroad?
Yes. Many of our dentists keep their Swedish registration active in case they ever want to return.
Will I have other Swedes around?
Yes — there's a real community of Swedish (and other Scandinavian) dentists in both countries, and we connect you in.
